Evan my fall 2023 intern

Evan is a CMU senior and was my sole Fall 2023 intern. Most of his time was spent processing and encoding the box and folder listings for Boxes 80-81 of CMU Athletics (seen in the image above). These are the beginning of the CMU student athlete folders. Typically the folders may include photographs, statistics, clippings, news releases, and a biography form about the student and their athletic record at CMU. He organized, weeded, sleeved, rehoused, labeled, listed, and encoded the lists. I've updated the catalog records and finding aid. We have about 16 more boxes of student files to process and another 25 awaiting transfer from the Athletics sub, sub, sub basement. We hope they arrive in 2024. And there are 6 or so boxes of miscellaneous photographs which have no order whatsoever.

Evan also processed a box of records we recently received from Luedtke Engineering. Over the decades, the Luedtke family members served on numerous Great Lakes organizations and commissions including the US Army Corps of Engineers leading discussions about the functionality of the Great Lakes and goals to improve it, including repairs of harbors and lighthouses, fighting invasive species, and dredging. This box of records provides a lot of information about safeguarding the Great Lakes.
