The Clarke is getting new exhibit lighting

The Clarke will be getting new exhibit lighting soon. In order to remove the old lighting and install the new, all the exhibit cases was temporarily relocated from the exhibit area into the reading room and back hall. The exhibit area hasn't been this empty since we moved in 26 years ago. The new lighting should be cooler, therefore less damaging to material exhibited, easier to adjust and reposition, and will use more efficient LED bulbs. Every time we have a new exhibit it takes a long time to readjust each light individually. Every time a light bulb burns out, you have to move cases and get out a ladder to replace it. Exhibit lighting takes up a lot of time moving and going up and down ladders. Think about the lighting the next time you visit an exhibit.
